| Marriage split |
| 2007-01-15 |
Isn't it strange. Couples who you think are in a strong and reliable relationship and end up splitting up just goes to show you that the only certainties in life are taxes and death. This man that I work with whom I am friends with has just split with his wife, and really I would have said that (going by the conversations I have with him) their marriage was strong and very easy going. Not so. She, apparently, reckons they have drifted apart and she reckons they need some time apart. I suppose it does not mean the end of the road for them, and I hope it can work out for them, but so many times I have seen relationships have this ‘break apart' and really it is just a fore runner to a permanent split. Just goes to show, you never know what will happen in life!!!! |

| Ireland Trip..dohhh |
| 2007-01-12 |
I never did a post yesterday as I was quite busy at work, as I have found out that for the third time in 4 months I will have to go back out to Ireland to do work on instruments at another Pfizer pharmaceutical plant. Although I enjoy it in respect that it is something out of the ordinary for my job, it is a lot of hassle, so I was checking out flights and accommodation, organising equipment etc, on top of my existing work load. I will try and take some pictures and post them when I come back. The unfortunate part is that I have to fly out on Sunday 21st of January, which means I lose half of my weekend...bummer. I will be back on Friday 26th but if we get finished sooner it will be Thursday (hopefully). |

| OUR FRAGILE PLANET |
| 2007-01-10 |
I was watching another natural history programme last night, and I find them so depressing. Why? I hear you ask me. Well, I feel depressed because on these programmes you see how wildlife struggles to exists, the beauty of various places on Earth, and when the narrator makes the point that unless we humans make drastic changes to the way we pollute our world and control the way we destroy the natural landscape, a lot of species of animals will die out because their natural habitat will be gone for ever. Global warming is coming, and although it is an unfortunate but inevitable fact of life since the planet is warming up anyway, the pollution that America, China, India and those countries of the old Soviet blok produce are increasing the Global Warming by an alarming rate, some say they are speeding it up by up to 10 times. In 50 years time, over a hundred different animals will have lost their natural habit, sea levels will have risen several feet, flooding many low lying areas, and average summertime temperature will have increased by around 10 degrees Celsius. I just wish that the Governments of these countries would get their heads out of their arseholes and do something now, instead of worrying about the economical impact of reducing green house gasses etc might have on their economy, otherwise it will to late....for all of us on this fragile little planet. |

| Rocky & Nick support |
| 2007-01-09 |
10 out of 10 for rocky and nickster for running through the blogs and responding to questions, in particular the ones I asked them. It is nice to know you guys are there and do visit & respond. Shows that the good support is there as always. I look forward to seeing the latest improvements to shoutpost. I do like the format here as it is a lot more user friendly than tblog (no offence) Do you intend to do a shout box on here like tblurt or will you just keep the "recent posts" navigation as a way of seeing who has posted? |

| BLOG ROLL BUG |
| 2007-01-09 |
I have posted 2 links on my Blogroll. I noticed that when you put them in order of apperance, you need to do it when you first create the link. Doing the order after you have created the roll has the effect of making them all 1st. I think scribbles came across this problem yesterday |

| QUESTIONS FOR ROCKY & NICKSTER |
| 2007-01-09 |
I do hope Rocky or Nickster read this as I was wondering why they felt the need to create a new weblog platform. I did read the shoutpost news and that one of the reasons was that so many other platforms promise you free webspace with no adverts, and this is their intention with Shoupost, which can only be a good thing. - Why could they not alter Tblog to do this, or is it too well established to change?
- Will they try and stop the infestation of spam-bots as this really screwed Tblog up. I can only imagine it is difficult to stop this traffic once it gets a foot hold.
- Will they do something similar to tblurt? This is one of Tblogs major advantages over other weblogs, as you can chat instantly to other bloggers, promote traffic to your own weblog and instantly visit people who have just posted.
Do they intent to give you different versions of Shoutpost, so if you subscribe and pay a fee you get more facilities, or will it remain one version and free to all? |

| CIVIL LIBERTY RUBBISH |
| 2007-01-08 |
CIVIL LIBERTIES? This is going to be my first controversial subject I am going to talk about. I really do despise these civil liberty groups, as I find they do all the "do goody" stuff and end up making life a little less secure. They try and support the few at the risk of the many. "In what way" you might ask. Well here are a few arguments I have. - On the radio on Friday, I heard a report on the news that Police in Derbyshire were searching for 2 prisoners who had escaped from an open prison. They would not release pictures of the fugitives as it would breach THEIR (prisoners) civil liberties!!!!
WTF is all that about????????? What about us poor civilians who now know that there are 2 prisoners on the loose? Where is our civil liberties, our protection? - Whilst our Government have tried on numerous occasions to bring in tough anti-terrorism laws, civil liberty groups have successfully managed to get these laws watered-down.
Does this mean the protection of the masses has been compromised, just so we can allow a few immigrants/possible terrorists their civil liberties????? - The Government wants to introduce Identity Cards. I am fine with this, I have nothing to hide and it would not bother me if I had to show it to some inspector every day. And like the majority of the British public who have nothing to hide, we would feel a little more secure with these cards in use.
So why do civil liberty groups disagree with these ID cards? Maybe because all the people they are trying to protect are criminals, illegal immigrants and possible terrorists!!!!!!!!! The safety and security of Britain and it's people must be paramount, so surely the philosophy must be to sacrifice the few to save the masses, not the other way around!!!???!!! What is your point of view on this?? |
